Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2026

These terms and conditions govern your use of Gradus Academy's tutoring services. By booking a session or enquiring about tuition, you agree to the terms set out below. Gradus Academy is operated as a sole trader by Rebecca Harrigan.

1. The Service

Gradus Academy provides one-to-one online tutoring across KS3, GCSE and A-Level subjects. All sessions are conducted online via video call. No in-person tuition is offered at this time.

You do not need any specialist equipment. A smartphone, tablet or computer with a webcam and a stable internet connection is sufficient. Your tutor will send you a meeting link in advance of each session.

2. Booking and Payment

Your place in a tutoring arrangement is confirmed once payment has been received. Payment is required in advance of each session or block of sessions, by bank transfer or such other method as agreed at the time of booking.

Gradus Academy reserves the right to decline or discontinue a tutoring arrangement at any time where it is not considered suitable or where these terms have not been observed.

3. Cancellation Policy — One-to-One Sessions

We understand that schedules change. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, please give as much notice as possible.

More than 24 hours' notice — the session may be rescheduled to a mutually convenient time at no charge.

Less than 24 hours' notice — the session will be charged in full as if it had taken place.

No contact made — the session will be charged in full.

To reschedule, simply get in touch at hello@gradusacademy.co.uk and a new time will be arranged.

4. Cancellation Policy — Courses and Blocks

Where tuition has been booked as a structured course or block of sessions, the following refund terms apply based on notice given before the course start date:

15 or more days before the course starts — full refund.

8 to 14 days before the course starts — 50% refund.

7 days or fewer before the course starts — no refund.

In the unlikely event that Gradus Academy needs to cancel a course, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid.

5. Session Recordings

All tutoring sessions are recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance purposes. Recordings are stored securely and may be accessed by the student and their parent or guardian on request. By booking a session, you consent to this recording. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further detail on how recordings are stored and used.

6. Student Conduct

Gradus Academy is committed to providing a respectful and productive learning environment. Students and parents or guardians are expected to treat the tutor with courtesy and professionalism at all times. Gradus Academy reserves the right to end a tutoring relationship without refund in cases of abusive, threatening or seriously disruptive behaviour.

7. Tutor Responsibilities

Gradus Academy tutors are committed to delivering sessions that are well-prepared, punctual and tailored to the student's needs. Where a session cannot proceed due to unforeseen circumstances on the tutor's side, an alternative session will be arranged at no additional charge, or a full refund will be offered for that session.

8. Limitation of Liability

Gradus Academy cannot guarantee specific results, grades or outcomes. Tuition is provided on a best-efforts basis and progress will depend on a range of factors including the student's commitment and prior attainment. Gradus Academy's liability in connection with any tutoring session is limited to the fee paid for that session.

9. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. Continued use of Gradus Academy's services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
